The first lesson I learned during the Corporate Finance career path was that Finance is a behavioral science. Before that day, I thought Finance was all about numbers, complex calculations, equations, and complicated stuff.
The fundamentals of any for-profit business are linked to its ability to maximize resources to have more profit. The truth is financial results depend on simple plus and minus operations. And that’s it.
What’s been changing lately, especially in Europe, is that the environmental agenda is becoming important - to the extent of being part of multinationals’ value drivers.
And what’s there for you?
Well, if you as an individual are shifting your behavior to commit to a better world, your consumption pattern is changing. Opting in for a greener life certainly means you’re also into a greener career.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a change in your lifestyle also meant a career shift to:
🌱 Commute by bike.
🌱 Work for a company truly worried about the environment, meaning it’s in their values and mission.
🌱 Find an employer that has a positive impact on the environment.
