My hack in Europe: Austria is a country that regulates job openings, and usually, companies must disclose the salary range. 
So go to LinkedIn and search for jobs in Austria. I mean jobs related to your job hunting process, which correspond to your title or position you want. Look for their salary ranges and also use Glassdoor. There is a valuable source of information there.
Then work on what you want, your minimum amount, and your minimum salary for that specific position in a particular company.
It's a combination of research and knowing your minimum desired salary that gives you a good guess on a job application.
