This is a question I constantly receive from followers, especially on LinkedIn. 40+ people are unsure whether adding graduation dates to their CVs is a good idea.
The reason is quite reasonable. They are afraid of ageism, and prejudice against age in recruiting.
My rule is that if you have a recent graduation year (less than ten years), then yes, it's ok. But if it's been a while since you received your diploma, it's better not to mention the graduation year on your CV.
We know there is age bias in recruiting, so omitting this data in your CV and LinkedIn profile will not be harmful.
Let me know in the comments if you have faced an age bias in your job search. You're not alone!
